FRSC boss blames holdups on bad transportation system

The Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Boboye Oyeyemi, has found the cause of traffic in Lagos state.

traffic gridlock

According to the Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), the overdependence on roads, as the main means of transportation, is responsible for the traffic gridlocks.

While delivering a paper at the First Lagos Traffic Radio Lecture Series, Oyeyemi urged the government to reduce the traffic by focusing on other means of transportation.

He spoke against the 90% dependence on roads, and called for more attention to be placed on other modes of transpiration like railway and waterway.

Oyeyemi ended the paper, titled, “Safety Challenges in Road Maintenance,” by predicting that the traffic situation will get better once there is an integrated/intermodal transportation system in Nigeria.
