South Africa's net gold and foreign exchange reserves were at $40.958 billion in February, up slightly from $40.753 billion in January, Reserve Bank data showed on Monday.

The forward position, which represents the central bank's unsettled or swap transactions, fell to $1.871 billion in February versus $2.05 billion.
Gross reserves rose to $45.748 billion from $45.119 billion previously.
