“Since we began the full implementation of the speed limit regime on commercial vehicles, the rate of road accidents has gone down. The device has been a huge success,”

“We introduced the device because speed was adjudged as accounting for more than 60 per cent of road traffic crashes. Statistics have shown that since we started implementing the policy, the crashes have gone down.”

She explained that only commercial drivers were being coerced to install the device at the moment because they usually convey more persons in their vehicles,

“But as time goes on, private vehicles will be forced to install the device as well,” the official said.
