Katy Perry’s new haircut is her most dramatic look yet

Judging by the hair transformations alone, it seems like 2017 is going to be a solid year.

The singer is taking on a new year with a radically different ‘do.

So far, Katy Perry is having a badass 2017. Earlier this year, she debuted a killer new platinum 'do and shut down the Grammy Awards with an empowering AF performance of her new single, "Chained to the Rhythm."

She recently upped the ante with an even more amazing new look.

"I've been wanting to do this since the day I met you," Katy's stylist Chris McMillian said in an Instagram video she posted showing off her significantly shorter chop.

"I wasn't ready," she says, looking edgy AF.

The new look delivers big on badass vibes—Katy is rocking close cropped sides and an edgy mess of platinum bangs. In short, she kills it.

The chop comes right after her recent split with Orlando Bloom. After being photographed together at the Oscars on Sunday, a rep for Bloom confirmed with USA Today on Wednesday that the couple was taking "respectful, loving space." Katy then tweeted this about the breakup:

Katy joins the ranks of other celebs going blonde for the New Year including Allison Williams (another client of McMillian's) and Olivia Wilde, who debuted a punky peroxide blonde bob last month.
