Money seems to be a limiting factor for most people who intend travelling. While it isn't a bad idea to save up all the money you'd ever need for a journey before embarking on it, chances are that whatever you save wouldn't end up being enough as a matter of fact.

This is not to say, you shouldn't save any money at all, but if you can't save up to the expected budget you feel is ideal for a journey, you can at least make do with what you have. I mean, money shouldn't be a discouraging factor for anyone who likes travelling.

You know, as much as it is a challenge to actually save up money to travel, you can actually make money as you travel and recoup at least some of the cost of the trip.

So, If you’re thinking about going on a long-term trip, here are some great ideas on how to make money while at it

1. Do freelance work online

There are a good number of freelancing websites that makes it easier to get work done-anytime, anywhere as well as an online workplace that connects clients with top freelance professionals. In as much as you've got something you're good at doing, there'll definitely be someone who needs your service(s), just connect with them and make money.

2. Become an English teacher

Teaching jobs are actually abundant around the world. Not only are they abundant, but they are a well-paying job with flexible hours and besides many countries offer huge bonuses, some schools will even pay for your flight over.

3. Be an Au Pair

An Au Pair is a domestic assistant from a foreign country working for, and living as part of, a host family.

So, if you don't love kids and don't mind spending time with them, just become an Au pair. You’ll get a room, board, and a weekly paycheck. You’ll have to be around a lot to watch the kids, but you’ll normally get the weekends off and some vacation time to explore the country!

4. YouTube channel

If you like sharing your story visually, creating a YouTube channel and monetizing the content can be a good way to try to make money on the road. This requires spending a lot of time and energy making your channel great (I’m learning along the way) and of course, you've got to be passionate about it because it'll definitely reflect in your videos. Monetization is obviously an effective strategy only if you have, once again, a large following.

Creativity is the key to making money with whatever skill you have.

Teach people how to dance, how to play music, how to cook your local dishes or work in restaurants as chefs, offer business consulting, make hair for people and all sort. Just do whatever you're doing in the best way you can.

So, you see, you don’t have to let money get in the way of your travel. If you are creative and flexible about what you want to do, you will find work, a work that will provide you with just enough to fund your trip and enjoy the best of you of your stay there.
