As odd as it may seem, men actually have a lot to deal with when it comes to their skin and physical looks. It has been said that regular use of moisturiser is one way to care for your skin after the strain of daily cleansing and shaving.

The director of the National Skin centre, India, Dr Navin Taneja, suggests some tips on how to keep men’s skin soft and smooth.

Limit your shower time and use lukewarm water to bathe as Hot water and long showers remove oils from your skin which would eventually lead to dryness of skin.

To avoid dryness, use mild cleansers. Strong soaps can rip off the moisture from your skin, making it dry and rough. Due to daily use this can affect the skin in the long run. Soaps can even be gotten based on the skin type of the individual.

Apply cream, lotion or gel before shaving to protect and lubricate your skin. Use a clean and sharp razor to avoid cuts. Also Use a moisturiser or lotion to soothe skin if it is itchy after shaving.

If you can’t find time to moisturise your skin, gently pat your skin dry with a towel after bathing so that some moisture remains.
