Steaming is perhaps one of the most important hair process which women often skip. From strengthening to providing body and bounce, there are a dozen and one reasons why the hair should be steamed at regular intervals.

In a nutshell, steaming involves using moist heat on the hair which then creates a humid environment necessary for absorption of moisture, amongst other great benefits.

Here are 4 great reasons why you should steam your hair regulalry.

  1. Provides great moisture: Dry, brittle hair is not only unattractive but also prone to breakage, this is exactly what steaming fights. Steaming deeply moisturises the hair leaving it healthy and bouncy.

  2. Create room for deep penetration of products: When the hair is steamed, the hair cuticle is gently lifted allowing for a deeper penetration and absorption of hair products necessary for the growth and well-being of the hair.

  3. Fights breakage: Hair breakage is perhaps one of the most hair damaging things, again steaming fights this very effectively. The combination of ingredients and moist heat serves to strengthen the hair promoting strength and elasticity. You'll notice how much less the hair breaks and how much bouncier it is after a good steam.

  4. Cleans the scalp: With the constant wear of weaves/braids and tropical heat, simple washing isn't quite enough to adequately clean the scalp. With regular steaming, your scalp is much better cleaned.

  5. Promotes hair growth: Sometimes, dirt can clog the hair follicles which affects hair growth. However with a good steam, the hair follicles are opened up, providing the right stimulus the hair needs to grow.
