On Africa As The Poorest Continent
Femi Kuti, popular Afro-beat musician says the leaders of Africa are corrupt
Africa undeniably is the richest continent in the world but surprising doubles as well as the poorest people. Why?
“We need to adequately educate our people, as it is through education that we can unlock the potential of our youth to enable Africa to compete globally and create jobs in the new knowledge economy”- Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
Who are we deceiving? Even the so called educated youths in Africa do not have jobs. The average graduate in Nigeria is either unemployed or underpaid. We agree that education is key but is that the cause of the poverty level in Africa? Is education the cause of lack of infrastructures? poor health care and security issues in Africa?
World Economic Forum is set to address these issues of poverty, job unavailability, and security come May 7th 2014 when the top world leaders converge in Abuja . According to UNICEF, 22,00 children die daily due to poverty and they die quietly and unnoticed in the poorest villages on earth. Do we folds our arms and watch innocent children, the supposed leaders of tomorrow die?
What do you think? With the looting and resource mismanagement in Africa, will you be wealthier or poorer in 2014?
