The sacking of former Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba, by President Goodluck Jonathan, has drawn a lot of talking points from a cross section of Nigerian who believe the timing is not good enough, coming barely a month before the President hand over power to in the in-coming Gen. Buhari.
Nigerians say President Jonathan was justified in sacking IGP Abba
60% of Pulse Nigeria voters believe that President Goodluck Jonathan had every right to sack former Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba.
Some are of the opinion that Abba got the sack as he compromised during the presidential election and was not loyal to Jonathan by frolicking with the opposition.
Be that as it may, Pulse Nigeria Poll went to town with the poser: Was President Jonathan justified in sacking IGP Suleiman Abba?
The responses, as usual, was a mix bag with a majority agreeing that the powers of a president is such that he can hire and fire at will.
60 percent of the voters were for the president while 40 percent faulted the firing of the erstwhile police hencho.
How Nigeria voted:
60% - Yes, he has every right to sack him
40 % - No, there was no justification for the sack
