The family of a young man, Stanley Etim has accused the police in Calabar of killing their son who has been missing.

According to the family, Stanley Etim was arrested from a popular supermarket, Sparks Shopz and Departmental Stores, where he worked.

Stanley reportedly had an issue with a girl who was allegedly connected to a police officer.

The family said that three police officers from the state O/C D'6 SCID, Diamond Hill last Thursday, February 5 stormed the supermarket where Stanley was working and took him away.

Stanley was reportedly accused of armed robbery by the police men.

When family members however went to the police station to bail him, there were told that nobody with the name was arrested or being held at the station.

The family revealed that some detainees disclosed to them that Stanley was shot and taken to the police clinic in Calabr.

A week later and the family have said that they are yet to see neither the corpse nor Stanley himself.

The family through an attorney have written a petition to the Commissioner of Police, State Attorney General  and the Attorney General of Police to order an independent and unbiased investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Mr. Stanley Etim.
