"Cultists Didn't Force Me To Drop Out Of Governors' Race"

Julius Agwu dismisses rumours that he dropped his gubernatorial ambition on account of cultists.

A-list comedian, Julius Agwu has debunked rumours which made the rounds that he dropped out of the Rivers State gubernatorial race because of pressure from cultists.

The 'Crack Ya Ribs' comedian revealed in an exclusive chat with Pulse that he merely stepped out of the race on the advice of his kinsmen who were of the opinion that the riverine side of Rivers state should take over governance for a change.

According to him:

"My people said Ikwerre people in Rivers have been in power for a while so they thought we should give people from the Riverine side a chance this time".

The UNIPORT Theatre Arts graduate further revealed that although he had stepped down from the race, he had gotten offers for the House of Assembly seat but wasn't quite convinced that was what he wanted.

"I'm getting offers for the House of Assembly but I'm not sure this is what I want, so maybe I'll just face my entertainment until they are convinced I can be governor, or something higher" he concluded.
