Fire caused by petrol tanker kills 14 persons

The fire which burnt the houses was caused by a petrol tanker conveying fuel from Lagos to Kaduna.

Fire from petrol tanker destroyed many lives and properties.

Fourteen persons were killed as a result of the fire which occurred in some residential area of the state.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that the vehicle driver, who was carrying fuel from Lagos to Kaduna, lost control, causing the petrol tanker to run off the road.

According to an eyewitness, eight houses were burnt beyond recognition, while goods worth millions of Naira were left in ruins.

The witness added that five persons who sustained injuries from the fire have been taken to the Tegina General Hospital for treatment.
