In Lagos One dead, others sustain injuries in a clash at restaurant

The owner of the restaurant where the death occurred has been taken in for questioning to determine what led to the brawl.

One death casualty was recorded, while others were reportedly injured in a brawl that occurred on the evening of Sunday, October 2, 2016 at Ire Akari Estate, Isolo, Lagos.

According to Punch News, the fight occurred at Bees Restaurant between the deceased who is yet to be identified and another customer.

This soon extended into a very violent encounter that led to the death of a customer who was stabbed with a broken bottle to his chest.

His corpse was taken away by officers of the Isolo Police Division who took it to a hospital where he was confirmed dead on arrival, an eyewitness commented.

“Anti-crime patrol policemen mobilised to the scene and a man was seen lying down in a pool of blood. He was subsequently rushed to a hospital, where he died,” a scene observer said.

In a statement, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, gave a confirmation of the incident, adding that the owner of the restaurant is being questioned.

She said, “The owner of the bar is undergoing interrogation with the command. Although he denied that the fracas happened inside his bar, the police are investigating to find out what actually transpired."
