Police say an 18-year-old Georgia woman murdered her teenage cousin, stabbing her multiple times after an argument.

17-year-old Abbey Hebert and 18-year-old Olivia Smith were cousins by marriage and, by most accounts, close friends.

After coming back from an eatery, an argument ensued and a physical fight broke out.

“[Smith] grabbed a knife from the kitchen area and stabbed [Hebert],” a search warrant alleged.

“[Hebert] fled out the front door of the residence, with [Smith] giving chase.”

The next person to see the teens was a neighbor — who told police he watched as Smith mounted her cousin in the front yard and stabbed her repeatedly with a kitchen knife.

Just weeks before the 17-year-old was stabbed to death by her step-cousin, the two teens exchanged messages on Twitter saying how much they loved and missed each other.

Hebert tweeted, "Love you sweet girl." Smith tweeted back, "Love you more than life."

Smith has been charged with felony murder. A motive for the stabbing has yet to be determined.

As authorities work on a motive, friends of the victim held a vigil Sunday, releasing balloons and paper lanterns in her memory.

Smith is being held at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center without bond.
