FG to carry out own investigation regarding death of Corps member
The Minister of Youths and Sports disclosed that the federal government is conducting an investigation into the matter.

This information was given by Solomon Dalung, the Minister of Youths and Sports on Thursday, December 8, 2016.
According to reports, President Muhammadu Buhari had on Wednesday ordered an independent investigation into Oladepo's death.
This was shortly after the NYSC Director General, Brigadier-General Suleiman Kazaure revealed that she died of renal sepsis.

Speaking to Punch News, Dalung said, “The report given by NYSC is normal and natural, that after investigation they must present their own report on what has happened.
“But in view of the fact that there are many versions of what led to the death of the NYSC member, it would be fair to look at another version of what happened, to be sure of what actually transpired.
“It doesn’t have to do with not trusting the process but to gauge the report alongside other opinion; then we will now be able to tell Nigerians that these are the circumstances surrounding her death.
“Don’t forget that the report of the NYSC had no autopsy; but an independent investigation will require an autopsy.
“The autopsy, alongside the report, will fortify the conclusion the government will make.”

Ifedolapo Oladepo's death occurred at a time when two other Corps members lost their lives due to illnesses.
The three incidents has brought focus on the quality of medical attention given to serving Corps members during the one year compulsory programme.
