The man identified simply as William, who hails from Ile Onisa quarters, is reported to have slept with his daughter after threatening to kill her if she tells anyone about it.

Sources disclosed to reporters that the mother of the deceased had separated from the suspect over irreconcilable differences, leaving with the younger siblings of the deceased.

The deceased whose name has been withheld, reportedly took over the responsibilities of taking care of the home following her mother's departure.

Soon after the incest, William became the object of ridicule in the community after the deceased pregnant state became noticed.

William was allegedly caught on Sunday, September 4, at a spot where he was digging a grave to bury his daughter after he strangled her to death, the Nation reports.

The suspect was immediately taken to the town's palace where the town's chiefs pleaded with the residents to abstain from jungle justice.

The body of the deceased was reportedly deposited at the mortuary even as the controversy swept through the community.

A resident of Emure identified as Anike, claims that the suspect took his daughter to his farm located in Abo Iso area of the community where he strangled her to death in a bid to hide his crime of serial rape.

“We are sure Williams killed his pregnant girl so as to cover up his crime because the girl’s pregnancy was already becoming very conspicuous and everyone knew that it was her father, who slept with her.”
