Dumb crook posts his hiding place on Internet

A wanted criminal led the police to his arrest after he posted his location on the Internet.

Christopher Wallace

A wanted criminal who thought he was playing Internet games with the police posted his location on Snapchat, a social media platform, leading the police to his prompt arrest.

24-year-old Christopher Wallace, from Maine, USA, wanted in connection with a January theft of a propane cooking stove and a cast iron wood stove, posted his location and was grabbed by the police while hiding in a cabinet at his house.

Somerset County Sheriff reports that authorities learnt of Wallace's hiding place when he took to Snapchat to announce he was going back to his home in Fairfield.

This prompted a round of calls Sheriff's office telling authorities about the social media notes from fugitive Christopher Wallace.

Deputies then surrounded the house, which prompted a second text from Wallace, saying he was hiding in a cabinet.

The Sheriff's office also used social media in connection with the case — to poke fun at Wallace's stupidity.

"A search of the kitchen cabinets turned up some food, some pots and pans, and also a pair of feet.

The pair of feet just so happened to be attached to a person, and that person was Christopher Wallace.

He was removed from the cabinet, and placed under arrest."
