For accusing their neighbours of pouring urine on their doorstep, a couple nearly lost their lives after the neighbours attacked and stabbed them.
PM News reports that the victims, Moses and Jovita Ayemi, were attacked and stabbed by the Obodos following a disagreement at their residence at 8, Bakare Street, Ikate, Lekki Phase I.
According to reports, the culprits who were arrested by policemen from the Maroko Division, Lekki, stabbed the victims for allegedly accusing them (suspects) of pouring urine on their doorstep.
The victims were rushed to the hospital for treatment while the suspects were arraigned before an Igbosere Magistrates’ Court on a two-count charge of felony, to wit, inflicting injury occasioning bodily harm.
The police prosecutor, Sergeant T. O. Tubi, informed the court that the complainants told the police that they had warned the suspects not to pour urine on their doorstep but they failed to heed the warning.
The Obodos, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge and the Magistrate, Mrs. O. M. Ajayi, admitted granted them bail in the sum of N50,000 each with two sureties each in like sum.
