The new show premiered yesterday, Wednesday, February 8, 2017, and the premise of the show is this- five friends come together to throw shade at celebrities or anyone who is in the public eye.
Accelerate TV's new show needs more punches
Shade Corner comes correct with its production but it needs to pull more punches and not hold back.
The five friends are or acquaintances are Makida Moka, Bayo Oke, Noble Eze, King Cam, and Akah Nnani who serves as the host of the show.
The debut episode of the show sees the shady bunch talk about actors who decided to have a music career. Certainly, Genevieve Nnaji had to be mentioned. The top actress' music career remains one of the few wrong moves of her illustrious career. Cossy Orjiakor, Nkem Owoh and Patience Ozokwor also pop up in their discussion.
The promo of the Shade Corner got us all ready for a show that wouldn't hold back with its punches. We expected to see major shade thrown at these actors who felt they could dash into a studio and come up with a few hit records.
The debut show didn't have the shade we expected. It had more of tiny jabs and banter than anything else. We are expecting Joan Rivers and Wendy Williams type of shade. It seems the shady five were holding back which is understandable really. This is the debut episode and they are most likely trying to find their rhythm.
The production of Shade Room is good and it has this Island cool kids vibe to it. The first episode might not have come out with a knockout but the few jabs in it makes it a show to keen an eye on.
