40-yr-old man in court over alleged N215,000 fraud
The accused is said to have collected N215,000 from Onwudikwe, under the pretext of giving him contract to supply tiles and granites.
Ugochukwu, whose address was not provided, is facing a two-count charge that borders on fraud and stealing.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Christopher Okoliko, told the court that the accused, with others at large, committed the offences between January and March at Marble Line Market, Coker-Orile, Surulere, Lagos.
Okoliko said the accused collected N215,000 from Onwudikwe, under the pretext of giving him contract to supply tiles and granites.
He said the accused did not give the complainant the contract.
The prosecutor said the offences contravened Sections 287 and 314 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised).
The Chief Magistrate, Mr A.A. Paul, granted the accused bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case until July 7, for mention.
