Jonathan appoints new Chancellors for 38 Federal Universities [FULL LIST]

According to the new appointments approved by President Goodluck Jonathan, Oni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, is the new Chancellor of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), while Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa'ad Abubakar and Igwe Chikezie Agubuzu head the University of Ibadan (UI) and the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) respectively. President Goodluck Jonathan has approved the appointment of new Chancellors for all the 38 Federal Universities in the country.

Announced in a statement signed by the Minister of Education, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, the new Chancellors' appointments come less than a month to the end of Jonathan's tenure.

According to the new list, Oni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, is the new Chancellor of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), while Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa'ad Abubakar and Igwe Chikezie Agubuzu head the University of Ibadan (UI) and the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) respectively.

Shekarau asked the Vice chancellors of the respective institutions to contact their new Chancellors to arrange for their appropriate investiture.

Alake of Egba, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo III (Ogun)             Federal University, Ndufu-Alike Ikwo, Ebonyi State
