Police have arrested and arraigned an 18-year-old student, Tobi Osho, for allegedly stealing an iron rod valued at N20,000 from a school.

Tobi Osho, an 18-year-old student, has is being tried for allegedly stealing an iron rod valued at N20,000 from Ifesowapo Community Secondary School, Aboru in Ipaja, Lagos.
Osho was brought before an Abule Egba Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing which he pled not-guilty to.
Police prosecutor, Insp. Racheal Williams, told the court that the accused committed the crime on the 24th of April at Ifesowapo Community Secondary School, Aboru in Ipaja, Lagos.
She said the accused and accomplice(s) still at large went to the school and stole the N20,000 worth iron rod before they were seen by guards.
"They have successfully taken away the iron rod before they were sighted by the school’s security guards," Williams said.
"Others ran away while the accused was apprehended."
The Prosecutor said the offences contravened Sections 285 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
\Following his not guilty plea, the Magistrate, Adenike Shonubi, granted the suspect bail in the sum of N20, 000 with a surety in like sum and adjourned the case to May 15 for trial.
