Professor Anthony Elujoba of the Faculty of Pharmacy has emerged the acting VC following a meeting between members of the university senate on Thursday, July 21.

Elujoba's emergence comes barely 24 hours after the Federal Government ordered the Senate of the school to use its internal mechanism in selecting a new Vice Chancellor.

As the crisis in the school went on, President Buhari, in a letter, directed the Senate not to consider any of the candidates who earlier contested for the position.

The Senate of the institution has now approved the appointment of Professor Anthony Elujoba as the acting VC.
