The Nigeria Police Force has renewed the Memorandum of Understanding with the Novena University, Ogume, Delta State towards equipping officers with intelligence and security knowledge that would put them ahead of criminals.
Force Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Ojukwu, who announced the renewal of the MoU that was first signed in 2014, said it was based on the desire of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Solomon Arase.
According to the image maker, the renewal came after the Director of Academic Planning of the university, Prof. AA Osakwe, led a management team to visit the IGP.
Ojukwu noted that the Arase plans to equip officers with intelligence and security knowledge that would put them ahead of criminals.
The deal provides officers with the opportunity of studying security related courses at a subsidized rates.
Arase pledged the Force's commitment to the MoU, adding that intelligence studies is important to effecting policing.
