Police in Edo have arrested two members of an armed robbery gang responsible for the death of a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

The suspects, Mathias Efe and Dominus Aisabodo, allegedly shot and killed then corps member, David Onyeasina, in a robbery operation at Muritala Muhammed Way in Benin City.
gathered that the deceased, graduate of Fine and Applied Arts from the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomosho, was on his way to purchase recharge cards when the tragedy occurred.
The Edo State Police Command spokesperson, DSP Stephen Onwochei, disclosed that the two suspects were arrested shortly after the operation.

Onwochei added that the suspects have confessed to have killed the corps member was they tried to escape the scene of the robbery shooting sporadically.
Assorted ammunition, 10 mobile handsets, and jewellery were recovered from the robbers.
