Suspected UNIOSUN cultists abduct ASUU chairman’s wife

The wife of the UNIOSUN ASUU Chairman has been abducted by gunmen suspected to be students of the institution.

Armed men suspected to be cultists from the Osun State University (UNIOSUN) have abducted Mrs. Funmilayo Abiona, wife of an official of the institution's Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

Abiona’s husband, Dr. Oluseye Abiona, is the current Chairman of ASUU, UNIOSUN chapter.

She was abducted on Friday night on her way home.

Two of her children were reportedly present with her in the car, an unregistered Lexus, when the hoodlums struck.

Student Pulse gathered that Abiona trades in her shop at Oke Bale area of Osogbo.

It was reported that the woman struggled with the abductors before they took her away in their car.

The abductors are suspected to be cultists from the university because they were dressed in red clothes.

The ASUU Chairman could not be reached for comments even as Punch reports that the case has since been reported at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Osogbo.
