The Board's Head of Media, Fabian Benjamin announced the deadline extension in a statement released today, Tuesday, February 6 in Abuja.

Benjamin who had earlier announced on Monday, February 5 that sales of forms and registration for the 2018 UTME would end on Tuesday said JAMB extends the deadline to accommodate candidates who have not registered.

He said: “JAMB as a responsive organization has taken the decision albeit with great hesitation to accommodate candidates who failed to register between the two months window period that ended at midnight of Tuesday, 6th February 2018,”

Deadline extension may attract penalties from 2019

However, the exam body said that such extension in future may involve some penalties.

“The failure of these candidates to register is unfortunate and the Board hastens to add that this culture of impunity will not be tolerated and indeed penalty may be imposed for late registration in future.

“Candidates are therefore strongly advised to take advantage of the extension to register as request for further extension would not be entertained,”

Meanwhile, the 2018 UTME is scheduled to hold from March 9 to March 17.
