Speaking with newsmen on Monday, the state chairman of CDHR, Folarin Olayinka, gave the Amosun led government a-seven day ultimatum to state the specific reasons for the "unlawful" dismissal of the teachers.

The government had last weekend dismissed the six staff; two Grade Level 17 officers, former Director, Education Support Services, Folashade Oresegun; former Director, Curriculum Development and Evaluation, Rotimi Odunsi; a Grade Level 16 officer, Majekodunmi Oluwole; a Grade Level 10 officer, E.O. Asegbe; a Grade Level 8 officer, Taylor Damilola; and an English Language teacher, Joel Adegbenro.

CDHR asked Amosun to state the Public Service Rules violated by Adegbenro who taught at Mayflower Secondary School, Ikenne, until his sack.

It is believed that the teachers lost their jobs because of a comprehension passage in the 2014/2015 Unified Examination for the Senior Secondary School which was deemed offensive by the government.

The English Language examination had included a passage on policy defect in education which the pupils were asked to summarize.

Olayinka however noted that the said passage is only meant to promote academic excellence among the pupils, not vilify the state government.
