Dr. Victor Ojapinwa, a UNILAG lecturer in an interview with Pulse said the strike is yet to take effect in the school as students and lecturers still go about their normal businesses.

"I am in the office now and I am attending to my students. Perhaps because of the LAG effect, it will take time before the announcement takes effect,"  the lecturer said.

The strike has officially not started in Lagos State University too as the University is observing Student Union Government week, which warrants the management to declare Monday 14, to Friday 18, August, as lecture free week.

A junior lecturer In the University, Abdul-Wakeel Saba said the industrial action has not really taken effect in the school because of the student union activities.

He said, currently, in LASU we are supposed to have a lecture free week because it is the student Union week. So lecture is not supposed to hold this week in Lasu, and because of this, we might not really see the effect of the strike through out this week.

The Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU) President, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi announced the commencement of the industrial action on Monday, 14, 2017 during a meeting of the National Executive Council of ASUU in Abuja
