Discover four great ways to overcome negativity.

All you have to do is adopt these four tactics:

Acknowledge your feelings

When doubt and discouragement come calling, the first thing to do is figure out what you are feeling and why. If you can't figure it out on your own, don't be afraid to ask for the help of the Holy Spirit. Once you do this, you can take the thoughts and voices in your head captive.

Renew your mind on a daily basis

There is a reason Romans 12:2 says, "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…" This is because the Bible is the first and best place to turn to when it comes to fighting negativity of all kinds.

Reading the Bible- filled with the truth about the God that you serve, who you really are - gives you all the ammunition needed against whatever isn't from your Heavenly Father.

In order to win the battle against doubt and discouragement, you need to read and BELIEVE the Word of God on a daily basis.

Memorize God's words

Hebrews 4: 12 describes the scriptures as "living and active." It also says that it is "Sharper than any double-edged sword, it pierces even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart."

By not just reading the scriptures but also memorizing it, you don't have to rely on the physical Bible before using the living, active sword to cut through the lies that come with doubt and discouragement.

Talk to someone

Hebrews 13:7–8 says, "Remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the word of God. Consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever."

This verse tells us that God wants to look up to certain people, preferably those who are spiritually mature and have way further in their faith journey. These are the people you can share your issues with and accept advice from.

Apparently, the most repeated phrase in the Scripture is, "Do not be afraid." It is said to have been said over 350 times in different ways throughout the Bible. This is proof of how much God loves you and the fact that He does not want you to live a life of doubt and discouragement. Trust Him and refuse to let these negative feelings enslave you any longer.
