The Chairman of the commission Abdullahi Muktar Muhammed has promised to provide the necessary tools to aid journalists in the discharge of their work while in the holy land.
Alhaji Muhammed added that a state of the art media centre would be provided for journalists in Makkah to facilitate their work.
However, he urged the team to discharge their duties with the fear of Allah and to protect the image of the country while in the holy land.
According to Leadership, the chairman said the media play a vital role in the dissemination of information and urge the team to work in harmony for the overall improvement of the country’s image.
“As you use your pen and your microphone, remember that we will all account for our deeds on the day of judgement with our creator,’’ Muhammed said.
While responding on behalf of his colleagues, the chairman of the media team, Alhaji Adamu Abdullahi gave assurance that the committee would do all within its power to discharge its duties effectively while in Saudi Arabia.
He said that the quality of report from this year’s hajj would be far higher due to the calibre of members of the team.
Abdullahi, however, appealed to the management of the hajj commission to provide detailed information to members of the team as at when due so that there won’t be room for rumours.
