Former atheist makes a case for God's existence

The atheists have lost a member to Christians as one of them now believes that God is very real.

During the recent Christmas holidays, former skeptical journalist-turned Christian apologist Lee Strobel confirmed that he is no longer atheism.

Using his Twitter account, he shared why he believes in God and why atheism is unlikely.

He wrote, “To continue in atheism, I would need to believe that nothing produces everything, non-life produces life, randomness produces fine-tuning, chaos produces information, unconsciousness produces consciousness, and non-reason produces a reason. I simply didn’t have that much faith.”

Strobel’s tweet got mixed reactions. While some were moved by his faith, some atheists took the opportunity to have a debate.

One Twitter user said, “That is perfect.” Another wrote, “This is gold!”

How the atheist gave his life to Christ

In a 2015 interview with TheBlaze, he revealed that his atheist views came from a negative relationship with his father.

In his words, “It propelled me toward my atheism. It sent me on a path looking for the kind of grace we know is there.

“We can all imagine the perfect dad, loving and affirming and there for you … and that’s God, but so many don’t have perfect dads.”

Faithwire reports that Strobel tried his best to disprove the Bible during in the early 1980s.

It was on this two-year quest that he found God after exploring the Bible and talking to theologians.

He says it was Jesus’ resurrection that finally proved Bible’s authenticity. In his words, “If Jesus claimed to be the son of God, died and then rose from the dead, that’s pretty good evidence he’s telling the truth. That’s the ballgame — the resurrection of Jesus.”

His conclusion was that Christianity is not just the best explanation for human existence but also quite real. Strobel’s quest for God was recorded in his hit book “The Case for Christ.”

It was later made into a feature film by the same name.
