Protesters storm INEC headquarters, demands chairmans' immediate resignation

The protesters insisted that the INEC chairman and Amina Zakari must resign to save Nigeria's democracy

The protesters alleged that the electoral umpire had connived with the All Progressives Congress (APC) to print fake INEC result sheets ahead of the Rivers rerun election scheduled for December10, 2016.

They alleged that INEC under the supervision of Mr Yakubu had planned to rig the Rivers state rerun election.

The group also accused the Mr Yaukubu, Amina Zakari, Rotimi Amaechi, Magnus Abe, Dakuku Peterside and APC of connivance in releasing certified true copies of INEC result sheets to the printers who produced the fake election result sheets.

It described the act as a "coup against democracy and an invitation to another 1983 wild-wild-west".

The protesters, therefore, insisted that INEC chairman and Amina Zakari must resign to save Nigeria's democracy.
