The Secretary of the commission, Mr Tagbo Nnamah, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Enugu on Thursday.
According to him, the commission would move the sensitive materials for the elections very early on Saturday morning.
“As you know, we are using the true and certified Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) register for the elections.
“We have also adopted the simultaneous accreditation and vote pattern.
“The commission wants all electorate to be comported and leave as soon as they vote.
“However, if for any reason you stay back, please obey the electoral law by staying peaceful and calm in about 200 metres away from the polling booths and collation centres as usual,’’ he said.
Nnamah said that the commission had trained its permanent and ad-hoc staff in addition to giving them guidelines on how to address issues in the elections.
The secretary said that the commission had given all the candidates a level playing field so as to ensure that each candidate is given a fair chance during the elections.
NAN recalls that ENSIEC had said it would not use card readers during the election which would hold simultaneously in the 17 council areas and 261 political wards of the state for the chairmanship and councillorship positions respectively.
