The APC chieftain said that members of PDP wouldn't be making hollow statements if they have actually studied the budget. Mr. Okechukwu claimed that he cannot understand how the budgeting of N1.8 billion for capital projects to address the decay of infrastructures in the country, can be termed reckless by members of the PDP. He called their criticism useless and blinded by sentiments.
“Neither PDP nor their spokesman, Olisa Metuh read the Mr President's budget address before dishing out their tantrum,” Mr Osita Okechukwu stated. “While one acknowledges criticism from the opposition, the best tradition requires that criticism should be constructive.”
The chieftain went further to point out that the PDP was responsible for squandering the resources of Nigeria, leading to infrastructural decay.
“One is of the considered view that the PDP has not come to terms with the effect that the unbridled corruption and squandermania of former President Goodluck Jonathan did to the development of our country.”
“PDP forgot that the billions it squandered via unbridled corruption and awful leakages made it impossible for the Party to provide critical infrastructure in the last 16 years to Nigerians. Transparency and accountability are the key to the implementation of Buhari's budget of change.
History is a witness to what prudent administration can achieve with little resource.”
Mr. Osita Okechukwu also tasked the Buhari led administration to block all leakages and ensure that funds are properly allocated and judicious utilized.
