PDP Reps caucus confident Jegede will emerge winner

The caucus said the jubilation that greeted Jegede's declaration as PDP candidate by the Court of Appeal is an indication of his acceptability.

The lawmakers said this in a statement signed by the Minority Leader of the House and leader of the caucus, Rep. Leo Ogor, on Friday, November 25.

"We remain fully confident that PDP’s governorship candidate in the forthcoming election, Mr Eyitayo Jegede has the support of the people and the best credentials to govern the state," the statement said.

According to them, the jubilation that greeted Jegede’s declaration as PDP candidate by the Court of Appeal is an indication of his acceptability.

"We note the reassuring victory that our candidate, Mr Eyitayo Jegede transparently achieved when he triumphed over desperate and negative forces at the Court of Appeal," the statement said.

The lawmakers called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure level playing ground for all contestants, so as to have free, fair and transparent election.

The PDP Reps caucus commended the three-member panel of the Appeal Court justices led by Ibrahim Saulawa for ensuring justice.
