Bamidele Oloyelogun is new Speaker of State Assembly
Oloyelogun was elected on Monday, April 3, following the resignation of former speaker, Jumoke Akindele in March.

Oloyelogun was elected on Monday, April 3, following the resignation of former speaker, Jumoke Akindele in March.
The new speaker, who represents the Ifedore Constituency, won nine votes to defeat Olamide George of the Akure North Constituency who won four votes.
Ogundeji Iroju, from Odigbo Constituency, has also been elected as the new Deputy Speaker of the House.

Akindele was forced to resign due to a crisis within the House which split the legislators into two factions.
