INEC urges elegible persons to participate in continuous voters’ registration

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has urged eligible persons in Bayelsa to participate in ongoing Continuous Voters’ Registration ahead of Dec. 5 governorship election in the state.

Spokesman of the commission in the state, Mr Timidi Wariowei, made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Yenagoa on Thursday.

He said that the exercise which began on Wednesday was taking place in the three senatorial districts in the state.

"Initially, the registration centre was only in local government headquarters but right now, it has been spread to the 24 state constituencies."

"We are calling on all eligible persons, who have not registered in the state to go out en-masse and register because voter card their right to vote and be voted for,"  he said.
