Sokoto Governor says he does not regret joining APC

The governor has denied a recent story that said he regretted joining the APC.

The governor had been reported to have said that he regrets joining the party as he was being sidelined by a cabal.

He had allegedly said, "I am beginning to regret joining APC. As a governor, I knew nothing about who gets federal appointment in my state. I am seemingly sidelined by Abuja politicians."

According to a press statement released by the governor's spokesperson, Imam Imam, on Wednesday, September 6, 2017, the story is a fabrication that "has no place in a democracy".

He said the quote was manufactured by the governor's enemies to cause tension within his inner circle and with the ruling party.

Imam also restated the governor's commitment to remaining a member of the APC and advised members of the public to disregard any contrary reports.
