28 Nigerians deported over illegal residency

NAN recalls that 48 Nigerians were on Nov.25, deported from the United Kingdom for various immigration offences.

Twenty eight Nigerians were on Thursday deported for residing in three European countries without valid visas.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Nigerians were repatriated from Italy, Switzerland and Belgium.

Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria’s (FAAN) source at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, told NAN that 24 of the returnees were repatriated from Italy and two each from Switzerland and Belgium.

According to the source, the deportees are mainly males flown into the country in a Meridiana Fly aircraft, from Rome.

The source said the deportees arrived at the Hajj Camp area of the airport 7.25 p.m. and were received by Nigerian Immigration Services and other security agencies.
