The Wedding Party opened big this weekend and has broken all box-office records with sold out showings and rave reviews in cinemas across Nigeria.

The movie beat Rogue One as the most watched movie for the weekend and has also broken the recent record set by ‘A trip to Jamaica’

According to Moses Babatope, Chief Operating Officer Film One Distribution ‘As of this morning Monday the 19 of December 2016, ₦36 Million had been recorded as takings nationwide. The Wedding Party is set to shatter all previous Box-office records because the lucrative Christmas season is yet to commence’.

From the FilmHouse IMAX cinema in Lekki, to the Genesis Deluxe cinema in Owerri, from Viva in Ilorin to Silverbird in Abuja, the long ticket queues were true testaments to how highly-anticipated the cinema release of The Wedding Party was amongst. Nigerians. Asides the quality cinematic experience, cinema goers also had the opportunity to meet with Banky W, Adesua Etomi, Beverly Naya, Frank Donga, Director Kemi Adetiba as well as Executive Producer, Mo Abudu who took pictures, conversed and sold tickets to the excited waiting crowd.

At the cinemas, the cast surprised fans by making appearances at the halls, As the movie known for giving, The Wedding Party rewarded cinema goers in ‘Catch the bouquet’ engagements at the Ozone Cinema, Silverbird galleria, The Palms and FilmHouse cinemas in Lagos, where bridesmaids were joined by single ladies in the audience to catch the bouquet thrown by a bride and win a bottle of Bolinger champagne.
