Actor explains his 'farewell tweet' as he survives on "Empire"
Jussie Smollett's character, Jamal Lyon, was shot by Freda Gathers in episode 17 of "Empire" titled "Rise by Sin."

Following the episode, Smollett took to Twitter to tweet what was seen as a farewell tweet.
On season two finale episode, his character survived, and even got to be a part of Hakeem's almost-happened wedding.
The actor once again took to Twitter to explain his previous tweet.
