Film festival to hold in November

The event will see participation from a host of local and international creative professionals including filmmakers, celebrities, actors, directors, film critics and visual artists.

 

This year’s Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) is set to hold between Sunday, November 8 and Sunday November 15, 2015.

The 2015 edition is set to hold in Lagos, Nigeria. The event made up of movie screenings, seminars and trainings will see participation from a host of local and international creative professionals including filmmakers, celebrities, actors, directors, film critics and visual artists.

There will also be opportunities for them to engage with the media, buyers, distributors, students and amateur filmmakers.

Activities for the fifth edition of AFRIFF are already in motion. Registration to attend the event is now on. The festival accreditation will take place a day before the main event at City Mall, Onikan.

Earlier this year submissions were made for the film fest competition. AFRIFF will be rewarding and acknowledging film makers in different categories such Best Student Short, Best Documentary, Best Short Film and Best Authentic Nigerian Feature. There will be monetary prizes also given to the winners of these prizes.

The first edition of the festival was hosted in Port Harcourt, Nigeria in 2010.  Watch this video of Emmy award winning actress Lynn Whitfield talking about the upcoming film fest:
