As we all know Diddy thinks he’s king. Now he’s a fairy godfather. On his birthday on November 4, 2015, the rap mogul released a mixtape called “MMM”.

“MMM” is the story of a hustler. On the opening track of the album titled ‘Facts’ Diddy shares:

“Money Makin Mitch is this fairy tale, you know, about this fly nigga from Harlem that came up”.

It starts off as a narrative, an insight into what the whole album is all about. A story about a guy in the hood trying to make it out with his skills and talents. He reveals that this story is made up though.

The album is set in his birth town Harlem, New York City. Asides from himself (Sean Combs), the main character in this story is ‘Mitch’. This character is inspired by a role played by Mekhi Phifer in the movie by “Paid in Full”.

On the 13-track album, Diddy raps about his wealth, the work he’s had to put in to get here, being gangster and his relationship with Biggie.

The sounds of some of the tracks on the album have a resonance strongly resembling music of the 90s and of the early third millennium. Its pretty exciting hearing Diddy collaborate with the real Queen B, Lil Kim and Jadakiss. ‘Auction’ featuring Lil Kim, Styles P and King Los throws you back in time.  And Jada brings his rhymes on in ‘Everyday’. ‘You could be my lover’ has this classic hip-hop two-step vibe that makes you want to get up and dance.

As you go further into the album, you’ll find that the story doesn’t really change though. It’s packed with are more lyrics about the Benjamin’s and this hustler called Mitch’s life.

Heads up: some of the Bad Boy’s lyrics are feeble and his collaborations with the newer popular artists seem a bit weird though. All the same, ‘Workin’ featuring Big Sean and Travi$ Scott is guaranteed to get you bumping your head and ‘Money ain’t a problem’ featuring French Montana will get you dancing.

The album does boast of great production from the likes of Diddy, The Hitmen, Hit-boy, Young Chop and TM88.

“Money Making Mitch” is about the life of a hustler. Hopefully Diddy's next album will be better than this.
