Shashi Kapoor Bollywood veteran receives highest honour in Indian cinema

Veteran Bollywood actor and producer, Shashi Kapoor, will receive the Dada Saheb Phalke Award which is the highest honour in Indian cinema.

77-year-old veteran Bollywood actor and producer, Shashi Kapoor is to receive the highest honour in Indian cinema - the Dada Saheb Phalke Award.

Popular for his hits like Deewar and Kabhie Kabhie, Shashi is from the prestigious and popular Kapoor family

He has won several national film awards and also acted in several British and American films.

Kapoor is the 46th winner of the Dada Saheb Phalke Award, given by the government for "outstanding contribution to the growth and development of Indian cinema".

Other Kapoor members who have received the award include his father, Prithviraj Kapoor, and his elder brother Raj Kapoor.
