5 reasons "Fifty Shades Darker" will be better than "Fifty Shades of Grey"

Pulse Movies has put together five reasons why we believe "Fifty Shades Darker" will be better than "Fifty Shades of Grey."

Fifty Shades Darker

You probably saw the boring, muddled first instalment of the "Fifty Shades" franchise, and you are thinking "how would the upcoming "Fifty Shades Darker" be any different from "Fifty Shades of Grey?"

1. Chemistry

The one thing that couldn't be missed in "Fifty Shades of Grey" trailers and the movie was Ana and Grey's awkward chemistry which made it seem like the duo were coerced into being a part of the movie.

In "Fifty Shades Darker," the two lead actors seem to have worked on their chemistry and are ready to set the roof ablaze with so so much intensity.

2. Confidence

"Fifty Shades Darker" has a confident Ana, unlike the first movie in the franchise which presented a timid and uncertain heroine.

In the second movie in the franchise, Ana is bold, confident and has a self-esteem that is appealing enough to save her character.

Since "Fifty Shades of Grey," Dakota Johnson who plays Ana has featured in "Black Mass" and "How to be Single," and she has, without a doubt, become a better actor.

3. More characters and an actual plot

Unlike the first movie which literally took viewers through a boring journey between Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan), Anna Steele and the red room, "Fifty Shades Darker" has depth.

The sequel has an actual plot that involves more than tying and spanking. There are also new characters like the infamous Elena Lincoln, Leila Williams and the creepy Jack Hyde.

4. Hot intense teasers

The first movie in the franchise was criticized for being tepid in its depictions of BDSM act for an erotic movie. However, if the released teasers are to be relied on, every sexpectations will definitely be met in "Fifty Shades Darker."

No released "Fifty Shades Darker" trailer or teaser has been underwhelming. From makeout scenes in the shower restaurants and elevators, it doesn't seem like Grey and Steele are having a boring sex life this time around.

5. A new director

"Fifty Shades of Grey" which raked in lots of money at the Box Office but failed to impress viewers, was directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson.

"Fifty Shades Darker" was directed by James Foley, who is popular for his work in "House of Cards." And if his previous works are anything to judge by, viewers can sure expect a better movie.
