South African chief says Beyonce isn't worthy to play Sarah Baartman, a South African woman who became known for her large buttocks.
There has been several reactions to reports that Beyonce is penning a script about South African slave, Saartjie "Sarah" Baartman, and also plans to star in the biopic.
The latest to react to the news is South African Chief, Jean Burgess. According to him, the singer is not qualified to write, let alone play the part of Baartman - a South African woman who was put on display because of her large butt.
“She lacks the basic human dignity to be worthy of writing Sarah’s story, let alone playing the part,” Burgess told News24. “Why Sarah Baartman? Why not a story about an Indigenous American woman? I can only see arrogance in her attempt to tell a story that is not hers to tell.”

Saartjie "Sarah" Baartman (more commonly known as Sarah or Sara Baartman) was the most famous of two Khoikhoi women who, due to their large buttocks (steatopygia), were exhibited as freak show attractions in 19th-century Europe under the name Hottentot Venus.
