It stars popular actors like Oga Bello (real name Adebayo Salami), Lanre Teriba and Yinka Quadri. She Baby whose real name is Esther Oluwaseyi Ariyo also plays an acting role in the film. There’s also a cameo from singer Oritsefemi.
Oluseyi plays the lead character Kunbi in “Aye Alaye”. In an interview with The Punch Newspapers in February 2016, the producer shared a brief synopsis of the film:
“It is a game of survival of the fittest for character named Kunbi who opts to achieve wealth regardless of the consequences. Lies, deceit, fear, betrayal and murder come to play in the movie as Kunbi is betrayed by her most trusted friend and fiancé, Kunle”.
She said the inspiration behind the film was from her interactions with people.
“I got the inspiration for the movie because I have met a lot of people in my life, each of whom had left me with the memory of their peculiarity, both negative and positive”, she said.
“The negative ones always have betrayal, deceit, inconsistency in common. I have come in contact with a whole lot of people like that and I feel I could pass a message to them through this production that there is more to life than being pretentious”.
The film was directed by writer and cinematographer Titi Jeje who worked on films like “Akaba Ola”, “Eleji” and “Agogo Ide”.
“Aye Alaye” is a follow up to “ She Baby’s previously produced pantomime movie "Itara Ife” which features Femi Adebayo. Ricardo Agbor and Jaye Kuti.
