Femi Kuti denies 'blasting' singer

Contrary to reports of the 'Sorry sorry' crooner being against 2Face's protest, Femi Kuti has come out to reveal why he questioned the use of the Afrika Shrine as a kick off point for the protest.

Afrobeat musician Femi Anikulapo-Kuti has denied claims of him being against 2Face Idibia’s proposed nationwide protest.

The eldest son of Fela Anikulapo-Kuti took to Twitter today, February 3, 2017 to clear the air on the statements he made earlier in an interview with a popular online publication.

“Contrary to reports I DID NOT blast 2face. I saw a report pic below saying protest was kicking off @ d Shrine I said I was NOT INFORMED,” he wrote on the micro-blogging site.

"B4 protest date was changed it was meant 2kick off d Shrine I said I was weary as y wud a protest b announced @ d Shrine wtout my knowledge."

"No problem protest venue and date has changed."

"Thank u o 2face is a friend/family of the house I would never Blast him in public. Not my style."

Meanwhile 2Face took to Instagram today, February 3, 2017, announcing a date and time for his highly controversial nationwide protest.

Powered by the 2face Idibia foundation, Lagos state protesters will take off from the National Stadium, Surulere at 8:00am while protesters at Abuja will convene at the Unity Fountain at 9:00am.
