Luxury brand comes under fire as celebrities boycott fashion giant!

An Italian magazine; Panorama released a recent interview with Italian designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana and its landed the designer duo in a hot mess.

Celebrities with Sir Elton John at the fore revealed the interview by the creative directors of Italian luxury fashion brand; Dolce & Gabbana  was an attack on gay families.

The interview translated via Huffington Post reported that the designer duo states that children born through IVF are “children of chemistry, synthetic children. Uteruses for rent, semen chosen form a catalog.”

Dolce also stated, “I am gay, I cannot have a child. I guess you cannot have everything in life,” “Life has a natural course, some things can not be changed. One of them is family.”

Their recent fall-winter 2015 runway collection revolved around a mother figure or “mamma” in Italian.

Sir Elton John who has two children via surrogate was angered by the interview and took to his Instagram yesterday; 15th March 2015 in response to the interview, “How dare you refer to my beautiful children as “synthetic”. And shame on you for wagging your judgemental (sic) little fingers at IVF – a miracle that has allowed legions of loving people, both straight and gay, to fulfil (sic) their dream of having children. Your archaic thinking is out of step with the times, just like your fashions. I shall never wear and ever again. #BoycottDolceGabbana”

One half of the designer duo; Stefano Gabbana replied and it became a tussle. The 'war' then started with other celebrities from Ryan Murphy, Ricky Martin and more supporting Sir Elton John's stand, the hashtag; #BoycottDolceGabbana has since been trending.

Earlier today, the brand released a statement via The Associated Press to state they are not against Gay rights, "It was never our intention to judge other people’s choices. We do believe in freedom and love,” Gabbana says. Dolce conveyed that growing up in a traditional Sicilian family affected his views. “I am very well aware of the fact that there are other types of families and they are as legitimate as the one I’ve known".
